Support
Something not working, a place on the map that is wrong, a question about your account or your data — this page tells you where to write and what to expect back. We answer in Spanish and in English.
Getting Help
Write to support@ubikas.app. If you are not sure which mailbox your question belongs to, use that one and we will route it.
It helps us if you include:
- the campus you were on, and the place or screen involved
- what you expected to happen, and what happened instead
- your device and operating system version, and whether you were on the app or the web
- a screenshot, if the problem is something you can see
We aim to reply within 3 business days. We are a small team and we read every message; we do not offer phone support.
If you are in danger or need emergency assistance, contact your local emergency services or your campus security office. Ubikas is a navigation app and we cannot help with an emergency.
Report a Problem with the Map
The fastest route is in the app: open the place, scroll to the bottom of its detail sheet and tap Report an error. That opens an email with the place already identified, so we know exactly what you are looking at.
If the place does not exist in Ubikas at all, or you cannot open the app, write to support@ubikas.app with the campus name and, if you can, roughly where the place is.
Worth reporting:
- a building, room, entrance or service that is missing
- a pin in the wrong location, or a name that nobody on campus actually uses
- opening hours, phone numbers or websites that are out of date
- accessibility information that is wrong — a ramp that is not there, a lift that has not worked in months, an entrance marked accessible that is not
Accessibility corrections go to the front of the queue. People rely on that information to plan a route they can actually take, so if it is wrong we would rather hear about it than not.
The base map underneath — streets, city context — comes from OpenStreetMap. Problems there are best fixed at the source, and reach every map built on it, not just ours.
Account and Sign-in
You cannot sign in. Check that you are using the same method you signed up with. If it still fails, write to support@ubikas.app and tell us the email address on the account and what the app showed you — do not send us your password.
Your details are wrong. Edit your profile in the app, under Profile. Changes take effect immediately.
Your institution gave you the account. Some things — which campus you can see, and sometimes whether the account exists at all — are controlled by your university or college, not by us. See Institutional Accounts in the Terms, and talk to whoever administers Ubikas at your institution.
You want to leave. Deletion is self-service, in the app under Profile → Privacy, and takes effect immediately. What Deletion Actually Does sets out exactly what is removed and what we are required to keep.
Adding a Campus
We map campuses because students ask us to. If yours is not in Ubikas, write to support@ubikas.app with the institution and the campus, and we will add it to the list.
We cannot promise a date. Surveying a campus is work done on foot, and we do the ones people are asking for most. A campus can appear in Ubikas without its institution being involved — see No Endorsement in the Terms.
Privacy and Your Data
The Privacy Statement is the full answer to what we collect and why. The short version of what you can do:
- Delete your account — in the app, under Profile → Privacy. Immediate.
- Correct your profile — in the app, under Profile.
- Change what you consent to — see Your Choices.
- Ask for a copy of your data, restrict or object to processing, or make a complaint — write to privacy@ubikas.app. There is no self-service export yet, so we assemble copies by hand.
Privacy requests go to privacy@ubikas.app rather than support, so they land with the people who handle them and are logged the way the law requires. Full detail is in Your Privacy Rights.
Security Reports
If you have found a security vulnerability, do not send it to support. Write to security@ubikas.app and read our coordinated disclosure policy first — it sets out what is in scope, what we ask of you, and the legal safe harbor we offer researchers who follow it.
If you think someone else's account or data is exposed, that is a security report too, even if you found it by accident.
For Institutions
If you work at a university or college and want Ubikas on your campus, start at Ubikas for institutions.
If your institution already uses Ubikas and you administer it, write to support@ubikas.app from your institutional address.
If you represent an institution and want something about your campus corrected or removed, or a question about how we name it, that goes to legal@ubikas.app. Ubikas is independent and appearing in Ubikas does not imply any affiliation — the Terms say so explicitly.
